Introduction
The Telecommunication Engineering Research Group at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) remains at the cutting-edge of research and development in engineering and technology. This group consists of highly experienced academics and researchers having multiple techno-skills, working on innovative research on microwave and RF circuits, antennas, wireless and optical systems. Their initiatives and tireless efforts in innovation of technological tools have been dedicated toward the challenges of 21st century in wireless technology.
Our mission is to advance awareness and understanding of telecommunications engineering through addressing global research challenges, transferring knowledge and developing world-wide strategic partnerships. The area of research covers a wide range of topics within the fields of RF and microwave technology, wireless mobile communications, networks and embedded systems, with more than 10 research staff and postgraduate students.
The group is supported by well-equipped and specialized state-of-the-art laboratories. A good number of research projects have been undertaken in the aforesaid areas, with a handful number of collaborations with industries and other universities. For its outstanding endeavors in the field of engineering and technology, our group was awarded with numerous medals and certificates including best invention in telecommunication award. Our research areas involve the possibility of greater interdisciplinary cooperation with other research institutes around the globe.
