ABSTRACT
The
electrooxidation of propionaldehyde and butyraldehyde on a gold electrode was
studied by cyclic voltammetry in alkaline media. Electrooxidation of both
aldehydes showed the appearance of two anodic peaks. Another oxidation peak on
a newly generated electrode surface was observed after the corresponding
reduction peak for both aldehydes.

ABSTRAK
Pengoksidaan
elektrokimia propionaldehid dan butiraldehid pada elektrod kepingan emas dikaji
melalui kitar voltamogram dalam larutan elektrolit alkali. Pengoksidaan
elektrokimia kedua-dua aldehid menunjukkan kehadiran dua puncak anodik. Puncak
anodik kedua hadir semasa imbasan keupayaan negatif pada permukaan elektrod
terjana semula selepas tindak balas penurunan berlaku.
Kata kunci:
Butiraldehid; elektrod emas; voltametri berkitar; propionaldehid
