Background
In 2004, the Faculty of Engineering & Built Environment UKM has pioneered a move to transform the undergraduate curriculum into Outcome Based Education in accordance with requirements from the Board of Engineers, Malaysia and the Malaysian Qualification Framework introduced by the Ministry of Higher Education.
In this approach, inputs from stakeholders are taken into account when reviewing the curriculum. As a result, there are courses in which their teaching approach have been changed the methods such as coorperative learning, student-centred learning and problem based learning. This new curriculum was implimented beginning from the 2005/2006 academic session.
