3L The Southeast Asian Journal of English Language Studies is committed to exploring and highlighting issues in the broad areas of English language, linguistics and literature particularly in the Southeast Asian context. This journal is a continuation of 3L The Journal of Language Teaching, Linguistics and Literature formerly published by the School of Language Studies and Linguistics, which has had an active history of publication since 1992. The editorial board welcomes submissions that provide insights into key issues dealing with the English Language in a region that hosts multicultural/lingual communities and contexts. Our policy is to enable the advancement of knowledge dealing with English Language studies in these communities and contexts by providing a publication avenue for new and insightful multidisciplinary work in the region. The ultimate objective of the journal is to create critical awareness of Southeast Asian concerns with all areas of English language Studies. Submissions that draw parallels between regional and global concerns of English Language Studies are also welcome. This journal is published by the National University of Malaysia and is based at the School of Language Studies and Linguistics, National University of Malaysia. It is internationally refereed and articles undergo peer review and blind evaluation by at least two reviewers from the journal’s editorial board as well as other academic experts. 

3L is now indexed in Scopus, Linguist List, Malaysian Abstracting and Indexing System (MyAis), Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Ulrichs Web Serials Directory, EBSCO Host, Open J-Gate, MLA International Bibliography, MLA Directory of Periodicals and Language, Siri Malaysia and Linguistics Behaviour Abstracts (LLBA).
 

   
ANNOUNCEMENT

We are happy to announce a special issue of 3L The Southeast Asian Journal of English Language Studies this year. This special issue features a collection of selected and reviewed papers presented at the SoLLs.Intec 2011 - an international conference hosted by the School of Language Studies and Linguistics, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in May this year. The theme of the conference Language, Culture and Literacy: Engaging Diversity in Challenging Times saw students, academics, researchers and policy makers come together to engage in critical dialogue over the many issues presented. The ten papers identified for this Special Issue capture the range and varieties of concerns debated upon and elaborate on their contributions to the world we live in today.

  CALL FOR PAPERS

 

The Editorial Board of the journal welcomes contributions of papers in the field of English Language Studies throughout the year. We invite submissions that engage with changing patterns within the area of English Language in the Southeast Asian region. 2 issues will be uploaded annually, one in July  and the other in December.  Please visit the website to have a better idea of the kinds of articles published and the submission guidelines.
