This
course is regarding magnetism and superconductivity. The first half of the semester will be devoted to magnetism
and the later half will be on superconductivity. Topics on magnetism will be covered by
Prof Dr Mustaffa Hj Abdullah.

Type-I and Type-II superconductors, phase transition, first
order and second order, entropy and specific heat,

Ginzburg-Landau Theory, Abrikosov vortex

BCS theory, Cooper pairs, isotope effect and energy gap

Tunneling, single particle tunneling, Josephson tunneling

Cuprate base high temperature superconductors

Material and preparation methods, electronic properties,
phase diagram

Large scale and small scale
applications.
