The Orthodontic Unit of the Faculty of Dentistry, UKM, in collaboration with ORMCO and Calmal, hosted a seminar titled "Skill Up with the Damon System" on 16 February 2024.

The seminar featured Dr. Park Chung Suck (BDS Seoul, PhD Ortho OSAKA), an internationally renowned speaker from Korea.

Postgraduate students, orthodontists from various universities, and professionals from private clinics attended the workshop.

The event provided valuable insights into effective mechanics for using the Damon system. It is hoped that this successful collaboration will pave the way for future partnerships

We're excited to share the success of our recent Colgate Oral Wellness Program, held on 12 January 2024, a collaborative initiative between FGG UKM and Colgate Malaysia!


The event aimed to enhance Year 3 students' understanding of the Colgate Oral Health Kit and its application in patient treatment. Through a detailed exploration of the kit, students gained valuable insights into the functions of each tool, boosting their proficiency in providing Oral Health Education (OHE) and Oral Health Instruction (OHI) to patients.

 

Prof. Dr. Seow Liang Lin highlighted the importance of a holistic approach to oral health with an enlightening talk on "Delivering a Holistic Approach to Oral Wellness in Older Adults." This session not only addressed the often-overlooked aspects of elderly oral health but also provided valuable insights for clinical practice

On 18 January 2024, UKM and Mun Global Sdn Bhd successfully signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Lecture Hall 1, UKM Kuala Lumpur.

Mun Global will generously contribute 3,200 boxes of gloves annually for two years, with an estimated value of nearly RM115,200.

The MoU ceremony coincided with the Coating Ceremony of the 3rd-year students, symbolizing the protection of dental practitioners during clinical procedures. Additionally, Mun Global generously sponsored 44 tunics for all 3rd-year FGG students
